Many of the best outdoor recreation activities in Virginia’s Blue Ridge are located in Roanoke County, including some amazing sections of the Appalachian Trail, beautiful parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway, fantastic mountain biking, and exceptional river access for paddling.
Don’t miss Roanoke County’s Explore Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway as your hub for outdoor adventure! The park includes 14 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, water access to the Roanoke River for paddling, boating, & fishing, camping and cabins for overnight lodging, disc golf at the new Mayflower Hills Course, horseback riding, and much more to come - including a new high ropes course with ziplining.
You can also splash through the day at the Splash Valley Water Park.
