Virginia's Blue Ridge is highlighted as a family-friendly travel destination in a new post on Johnna Knows Good Food.
The region is featured in a post titled "A Vacation for You, A Vacation for the Kids" and its written by Johnna French, who visited the area in April 2018 as part of a media tour hosted by Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge.
Her Washington D.C., based blog covers a variety of topics, including food, style and events. Coverage for Virginia's Blue Ridge on her website gives the region great exposure in the key Northern Virginia-Washington D.C. feeder market.
The blog post showcases many of the kid-friendly experiences in the region, such as the attractions and museums at Center in the Square, Roanoke Star, and Virginia Museum of Transportation.
Here is an excerpt from the article:
"Kids Square is perhaps my favorite of the three because of its simulated Roanoke, VA just for kids. The square houses a simulation of businesses in the Roanoke area and allows kids the opportunity to take a hands on approach to adulting. A bank, new station, hospital, dentist office, beauty salon and gas station all give the effect of a real town for kids only. I would have spent days and nights in a place like this as a child."
