The James River is located right in my backyard here in Eagle Rock, VA, and is home to some incredible Smallmouth Bass fishing. Similar to the New River, the habitat consists of long, tree-lined banks with rocky shoals and outcroppings—perfect for Smallmouth to thrive. We cover several stretches of the river depending on flows, water levels, and turbidity. It is in these stretches that we have dialed in tactics and locations for several healthy populations of smallmouth bass.
