Get the inside scoop on what to see and do from the experts at the Virginia's Blue Ridge Visitor Information Center. Located in downtown Roanoke, the Visitor Information Center is centrally located and easy to get to. Stop in and pick up a map, dining guide and information on all of the region's hotels and events. Follow the signs from I-581 or plug our address into your GPS. Make the Visitor Information Center your first stop. Open Monday - Saturday 9:30am - 4:30pm, Sundays from 11:00am - 3:00pm. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day and Easter.

- Directions: Directions from Interstate-81: Exit 143 to Interstate 581/Route 220 South, Exit 5 to Downtown Roanoke, merge left onto Williamson Road, turn right onto Shenandoah Avenue, Visitor Center is on the left. Directions from Route 220 North - The Route becomes Interstate 581 near Downtown Roanoke: Take Exit 4E/Orange Avenue, turn right onto Williamson Road, turn right onto Shenandoah Avenue, Visitor Center is on the left. . Directions from Route 460/Orange Avenue: Turn south on Williamson Road (toward the Roanoke Civic Center), turn right onto Shenandoah Avenue, Visitor Center is on the left. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day and Easter. Directions from the Blue Ridge Parkway: Take the exit at Milepost 120 onto Mill Mountain Parkway. Proceed 3 miles to the Roanoke Star & Overlook, Mill Mountain Zoo and Discovery Center (left on Prospect Road SE - it's worth a stop!). Mill Mountain Parkway turns into JP Fishburn Parkway and then Walnut Avenue. At the base of the mountain, turn left onto Jefferson Street and take immediate left onto Williamson Road. Follow Williamson Road into downtown Roanoke and turn left onto Wells Avenue. Turn left onto North Jefferson Street, turn left onto Shenandoah Avenue.
