Explore the Historic Roanoke City Market, a cornerstone of downtown Roanoke and one of the oldest continuously operating public markets in the United States. Established in the late 1800s, this vibrant marketplace combines rich history with modern charm, making it a top destination for both locals and tourists.

Visitors can explore an array of local vendors offering fresh, high-quality products. These trusted vendors are always on site to answer questions about their locally grown, chemical-free goods—an advantage not typically found in grocery stores. The market’s commitment to “locally grown” products ensures that shoppers enjoy fresh, quality produce free from preservatives used in long-distance food transport.

Beyond the market, the surrounding area is home to historic architecture, unique shops, and diverse dining options. Whether looking to savor regional flavors, find distinctive gifts, or enjoy a leisurely day out, the Historic Roanoke City Market provides an engaging glimpse into Roanoke’s cultural heritage.

Visit the Historic Roanoke City Market to experience a beloved downtown gem that offers an authentic taste of Roanoke’s local flavor and vibrant community spirit.
