Claytor Lake State Park has a 4,500-acre lake, offering visitors a scenic retreat. The park has 15 cabins and 3 lodges that are perfect ways to stay overnight while enjoying all that Claytor Lake State Park has to offer. Ideal for swimming, camping, hiking and picnicking, Claytor Lake is known for sport fishing and boating. Guests can also rent bikes and enjoy a universally accessible fishing pier, picnic shelters, a seasonal snack bar and playgrounds.
SWIMMING: The swimming area has a snack bar and gift shop.
FISHING/BOATING: Motorboats permitted. Except for the beach and cabin area, fishing is permitted from the shoreline throughout the park. Bass, catfish, muskie, walleye and striped bass are among the popular sport fish found in the lake.
WATER SPORTS: Claytor Lake Water Sports at the marina offers a variety of pontoons, motorboats, canoes and kayaks. Also at the marina, Mountain 2 Island Paddleboard Company offers paddleboard rental, gear and lessons.
TRAILS: The park has six trails - a total of 7 miles of easy-rating hike or bike trails - open year-round. Bicycles for all ages and sizes are available for rent.
