Marketing Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing Manager position at Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge involves supporting the development and execution of marketing and communication programs while creating and updating collateral materials. This role requires a background in graphic design, marketing, or a related field, along with strong skills in content design, verbal and written communication, and customer service. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments and external agencies, manage website content, and oversee promotional items, ensuring brand consistency across all communications and materials.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES: Primary responsibilities include assisting with ad campaigns, designing promotional materials, and managing the production of collateral such as the Visitor’s Guide and Regional Map, presentations, profile sheets, and advertisements. The Marketing Manager will also coordinate web updates, oversee the Consumer E-Newsletter program, and engage with partners and stakeholders to enhance marketing initiatives. Additionally, the role involves evaluating website analytics for growth opportunities and assisting in the development of marketing campaigns for sales and sports initiatives. By leveraging resources effectively, the Marketing Manager aims to maximize the impact of the organization’s marketing efforts.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field is preferred.  One year of work experience may substitute for one year of the required education up to a maximum of four years substitution.  Where substitution is accepted, applicant must show increased knowledge-base and experience in progressively more challenging work assignments.

Office Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Office Manager reports to the President and is responsible for management of Visit VBR internal operations which includes, but are not limited to, coordination of accounting activities with the company’s accounting firm, including personnel payroll as well as accounts payables and accounts receivables. Responsibilities include a significant portion of human resources/personnel matters including benefits administration and record keeping, coordinating activities with department heads and the President in the hiring new employees, and managing employee departures. Oversees general operations including vendor contracts, management and maintenance of MIS/communications systems management, and other office equipment. Responsible for identifying and implementing operational efficiencies. The person occupying this position must maintain a valid driver’s license in order to perform responsibilities related to job functions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Degree in Business Management or a minimum of eight years’ experience in office management. Must have excellent writing and editing skills. Must have exceptional communications skills at the executive and board levels and be able to work well with others and perform responsibilities with minimum supervision. Must have a demonstrable aptitude in information systems, governmental relations/contract compliance, and multiple project management.
