Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge is currently hiring for the following:

Marketing Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing Coordinator will support marketing executives, assist with marketing and communication programs, and develop collateral materials. They will create new and update existing website content, design ads and promotional pieces, collaborate with agencies and content creators, and provide support in the facilitation of marketing campaigns. Additionally, they will assist other Visit VBR departments on strategic initiatives and programs.

SALARY: This is an entry-level position. Salary starts at $41,000, based on experience and qualifications.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field is preferred. One year of work experience may substitute for one year of the required education up to a maximum of four years substitution. Where substitution is accepted, applicant must show increased knowledge-base and experience in progressively more challenging work assignments.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: Must have strong content design, graphic design, and desktop publishing skills. Must have strong verbal and written skills and be able to communicate to a diverse audience. Good interpersonal communications skills, strong customer service focus, and familiarity with Adobe programs (Illustrator & Photoshop) is required. Web design, content management, Microsoft Office and Simpleview or similar CRM/CMS experience preferred.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITES:

• Support marketing executives in organizing various projects.
• Assist with the flow of marketing and communication programs, including ad campaigns, placement, and design.
• Develop design work using existing creative elements and photography.
• Develop and proof collateral materials, such as the Virginia’s Blue Ridge Visitor’s Guide, Regional Map, and Profile Sheets.
• Work with the Creative Design Senior Manager on the development merchandising opportunities and oversee promotional items and inventory.
• Help ensure brand consistency with PowerPoint presentations and displays in collaboration with other departments.
• Assist with grant administration.
• Undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities.
• Create new content and update existing content on the Visit VBR website and blog, both through copywriting and the use of AI tools.
• Coordinate website content updates with 3rd party agencies and content providers, as well as other Visit VBR departments.
• Oversee Visit VBR’s Consumer E-Newsletter program, including the creation and distribution of monthly general e-newsletters and quarterly niche e-newsletters.
• Assist with communication and engagement with partners and local stakeholders within the community about Visit VBR’s marketing efforts
• Work in coordination with Visit VBR’s Social Media & Content Manager to create synergy between website, e-mail, and social media campaigns.
• Incorporate key strategic initiatives into the Visit VBR website and other marketing platforms.
• Assist in the development marketing campaigns for sales and sports initiatives (e.g., Pre-show, sales blitz, and FAM invitations).
• Help maintain and grow the Visit VBR creative photo and video library.
• Assume other tasks or responsibilities as directed by the Vice President of Marketing, Chief Strategist Vice President, and the President.
