Grab an inner tube, canoe, boat, or standup paddleboard and float on Philpott Lake while you are serenaded by live music from the stage on the dock.

History and culture blend together each year during the Juneteenth Celebration at the Booker T. Washington National Monument. During the event, you will be treated to gospel music concerts, family activities, a selection of food vendors, and various tours and presentations.

Iconic summer fun awaits in the small and scenic Town of Buchanan in Botetourt County. The Buchanan Community Carnival is a beautiful setting along the edge of the James River and features traditional fair food, fireworks, amusement rides, carnival games, and live music.
Over 300 cars cruise in the Downtown Roanoke area with special parking for collector cars at the Virginia Museum of Transportation. Enjoy the show, explore the museum, listen to live music, and browse vendors all weekend long.
Complete your budget-friendly getaway at the largest free-admission fair in Virginia, which features approximately 40 amusement rides, over 30 food vendors, and lots of free shows and exhibits.

Enjoy a week of incredible mountain biking in Virginia's Blue Ridge. The Roanoke Region welcomes top athletes and teams from around the country, including multiple Olympians and members of the U.S. National Team, for multiple days of racing across various mountain biking disciplines. Races take place at Hollins University, Carvins Cove, Downtown Roanoke's Elmwood Park, and Roanoke County's Explore Park, and it's a great event for spectators.
Bring along a tube, kayak, or paddleboard and head to Roanoke Mountain Adventures and gear up for a relaxing summer float down the Roanoke River. Cool off on the water as you make your way to Starr Hill Pilot Brewery for the epic post-float party.
