Roanoke, Virginia - After 31 years of doing business as the Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau (RVCVB), the region's official destination marketing organization, the RVCVB is proud to officially unveil its new name, Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge.
The name change is the result of marketing research obtained from our customers. "Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge is the region's brand that our customers are drawn to, therefore it makes sense to change our corporate marketing name to match the region we represent," stated Landon Howard, President, Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge.
"Tourism is BIG Business attracting over three-quarters of a billion dollars in direct spending annually and it is our job to successfully market Virginia's Blue Ridge as a competitive mountain destination to meeting planners, business travelers, and those looking for a mountain vacation destination. Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge conveys our number one feature...our beautiful mountains," said Howard.
Just over a year ago, Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge relaunched its web site, www.visitvablueridge.com, as one-stop destination shopping tool designed to seamlessly fulfill every planning need of visitors, residents and prospective tourism-related companies looking to expand.
A Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge Branding Kit is available online as a resource for stakeholders and partners to further engage in the process of marketing Virginia's Blue Ridge as an exceptional mountain vacation destination. http://www.visitvablueridge.com/partners/branding-kit/
