United Airlines' in-flight magazine, Hemispheres, recently published an article titled, "Three Perfect Days in Virginia," and included several attractions around Roanoke and Virginia's Blue Ridge.
Black Dog Salvage, Scratch Biscuit Company, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Peaks of Otter all earned high praise from author Joshua David Stein, who visited the area in April. The following is an excerpt from his piece:
"I amble down Memorial Avenue while devouring my Jezebel sandwich (pimento cheese and ham - who could ask for anything more?) and make a quick stop to browse the warehouse shelves at Black Dog Salvage. The store is stuffed with everything from piano keys and old stereos to neon lights and glass doors..."
