Virginia’s Blue Ridge features part of this incredible 4,228 mile cross-country trail, which is also commonly referred to as US Bicycle Route 76. Riding on the portion of the route that makes its way through the region provides the opportunity to enjoy incredible mountain views, quiet countryside, and quaint small towns that are full of character, including the historic communities of Daleville, Troutville and Buchanan in Botetourt County. The route winds approximately 85 miles through Virginia’s Blue Ridge, between Christiansburg and Lexington, allowing riders to enjoy the challenge and breathtaking landscapes of the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains. Traveling north from Virginia’s Blue Ridge, the route connects with the Blue Ridge Parkway before making its way east to the Virginia coast and its stopping point in Yorktown.
