The Crooked Road winds through almost 300 miles of terrain along Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail, a driving route through the mountains. The traditional gospel, bluegrass, and mountain music we hear today was passed down through the generations and lives on in this area. You’ll find this heritage proudly displayed in the Town of Rocky Mount, at the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum in Ferrum, and at the famous Floyd Country Store. Along this route, you will also find a variety of handcrafted woodwork, weaving, and pottery in country stores and shops. When you reach the Town of Stuart, you will find another generational rite of passage with Wood Brothers Racing. They hold the Guinness World Record for the longest active NASCAR racing team. 20 of NASCAR’s greatest drivers have driven for Wood Brothers Racing and you can see this racing history on display at their family-run museum, which features photos, memorabilia, and race cars.
