Experience the scenic and historic charm of Botetourt County with the 33.2 mile Springwood Loop near Roanoke, VA. This road biking adventure begins in Historic Fincastle and follows Springwood Road, offering cyclists breathtaking views of the countryside and a crossing over the James River. Heading south on Route 43 leads riders into the quaint Town of Buchanan, where local shops and dining options await exploration.
Continuing south on Route 11, cyclists then join Route 640, part of the renowned TransAmerica Bicycle Trail. Route 640 winds through scenic landscapes before looping back towards Fincastle. Completing the loop involves a short segment on Route 602 and S Church Street, culminating in a return to Main Street in Historic Fincastle.
