The Southeast Roanoke LOVEwork is a remarkable community art installation located in Southeast Roanoke, Virginia, that celebrates the love and pride of the neighborhood. This collaborative project was created by a Virginia Tech grad student, Southeast Roanoke neighbors, and the Western Virginia Water Authority, reflecting the heart and soul of the community.
The L, V, and E letters are filled with nearly 300 3-inch cutout houses, each hand-painted by local residents and community partners to represent the places they love in Southeast Roanoke. The O is filled with hundreds of red hearts, symbolizing the collective efforts of neighbors and community partners dedicated to enhancing the area.
The LOVEwork is located on the property of the Western Virginia Water Authority at the Roanoke Regional Water Pollution Control Plant, near the Bennington Park/Greenway parking lot. This vibrant and colorful installation offers a perfect opportunity to explore Southeast Roanoke and discover the neighborhood’s charm through its creative community efforts.
