Potts Mountain is the largest mountain in Craig County and its popular jeep road and surrounding trails are well known for wheeling and off-roading, but it’s also an outstanding place for mountain biking. Between the jeep road, paved roads, challenging trails, and gravel surface forest service roads, this is a trail system that will put any avid mountain biker to the test. With one section being a jeep road intended for larger vehicles, be prepared for some very technical maneuvering with your bike. If you can manage the steep climbs, you’ll be rewarded with incredible views along the amazing ridgeline of Potts Mountain. The primary spot for parking is at the Pines Campground, which is located off Route 617 via Route 611 in Craig County north of New Castle.
