Located at Northside High School in Roanoke, Virginia, the Northside LOVEworks art installation is a powerful symbol of Viking pride and inclusion. Situated between the high school and middle school, this striking sculpture celebrates the school’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and belonging for all.
The four letters of the sculpture represent key aspects of Northside’s spirit. The L showcases the word Vikings with the hashtag #choosetoinclude, highlighting the school’s dedication to inclusion. The O features the Special Olympics Unified Teams logo, representing the school’s involvement in the Unified Track program. The V is adorned with the Northside Viking logo, proudly displaying school pride, while the E is embellished with red, white, and blue stars symbolizing Roanoke’s nickname, “The Star City.”
Northside High School is nationally recognized for its work with Unified Track and for hosting the world’s largest "Little Feet Meet", a unique event that brings together the community to celebrate inclusion through sports.
