On July 11, 1930, a "salesman" pulled into what was then a garage. He explained he was having some car trouble. The mechanics decided to let the car cool down while they went home for dinner. While they were away, the car, which was carrying a full load of illegal liquor, caught fire and sparked an explosion that burned through the floor. Remnants of the vehicles remain in the basement today. Exhibits throughout the museum depicts the events and celebrates our moonshine heritage.
