Located atop Mill Mountain in the center of the Roanoke Valley, the Zoo’s animals are a conversation piece among reception goers. Special events and educational programs are available and specially designed for each group. Covered Picnic Pavilion – 8 tables – 45 people; accommodates receptions up to 350 people; accommodates meetings up to 150 people. Entire park atop Mill Mountain can accommodate 1,000. Electric on site and access to water and facilities within the zoo.

Directions: We are located on top of Mill Mountain next to the giant STAR that overlooks the beautiful city of Roanoke. We apologize for any inconvenience, but Mill Mountain Zoo does not have a specific street address for use with Map Quest or other resources. From I-81. Take Exit 143 / I-581 South to Downtown Roanoke. Take Exit 6 / Elm Ave. off I-581 (220) Turn Right at the end of exit ramp onto Elm Ave. Past hospital - Left at second light onto Jefferson St. Turn left at fourth stop light onto Walnut Ave. Walnut Ave. goes up Mill Mountain - Becomes Parkway Spur Rd. At top of Mountain turn right at the Mill Mountain Park Sign Zoo is located to the left of parking area. We are located right next to the STAR.

Additional Information: During the spring, summer and fall we are open 7 days a week. During winter months, we are open Thursday-Sunday (gates closing at 4pm). Please call to ensure we are open during the winter month due to bad weather possibilities.
