Riding at Longdale Furnace provides the opportunity to take on the North Mountain Trail - not to be confused with the North Mountain - Dragon’s Back trail system near Roanoke. This section in the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest, located near the Longdale Recreation Area and close to Interstate 64, provides its own share of gnarly climbing and technical sections, as well as amazing views and mountain vistas, and is popular with hardcore mountain biking locals always on the hunt for the rugged, undiscovered bike trails.
