Jamison Mill Park is named for the historic mill site located on the shores of Philpott Lake, a 3,000 acre lake with 100 miles of pristine undeveloped shoreline surrounded by 10,500 acres of forested land in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. The clear water and natural shoreline make Philpott Lake a unique place for every sportsman and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy the outdoors.
Jamison Mill Park, located in Franklin County, is a beautiful spot for scenic views of Philpott Lake. It features over 6 miles of interconnected loops for hiking and biking, and provides opportunities to enjoy swimming, camping, hunting, and fishing. For those that just want to relax and enjoy nature there is an abundance of wildlife to view such as turkeys, squirrels, raccoons, as well as a variety of songbirds and waterfowl. All reservations must be made at least 30 days in advance by calling 540-483-9293. First come first serve camping is available without reservations however sites are limited.
