Current work can be seen at The Market Gallery at 23 Salem Avenue in downtown Roanoke, VA. Donna Essig was represented for 25 years by the Sonia Zaks Gallery in Chicago from 1980 until 2005 when the gallery closed. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois. Her work is included in many private and public collections. She is known for her large scale figurative watercolors that are highly detailed and intensely colored narratives that include imagery from myth and dreams.
