Camp Bethel (Fincastle, VA) is open year-round for conferences, retreats, festivals, RV/tent camping, school groups, outdoor education, and other family, church and community events. Our facilities are a mix of modern, rustic-elegant cottages, lodges, meeting rooms and event spaces. We offer 470 acres of land bordering the Jefferson National Forest, with hiking trails that connect with the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We are also just 11 miles from the James River, and are surrounded by paths for gravel biking, single lane mountain biking, and road biking. Camp Bethel is perfect for unique events, with excellent food service provided on request. Our facility is 10 miles North of Roanoke, and is easily accessible by I-81 and Route 11. All facility usage requires an advanced reservation and will be limited from May-August due to Summer Camp.
Directions
- Directions: Heading North on I-81: 1. Take Exit 156. 2. At end of ramp, turn right onto Brugh’s Mill Road. 3. Go .2 of a mile to stop sign. 4. Turn left (North) onto Rt. 11. 5. Go approximately 2 miles (Mill Creek Baptist Church will be on your left). 6. Just after the church turn right onto Blue Ridge Turnpike, route 606. 7. Go 1.6 miles to stop sign, turn right onto Nace Road, route 640. 8. Go less than 1/10th mile and turn left onto Bethel Road, again route 606. 9. Drive under rail-road trestle, entrance to camp is .3 of a mile straight ahead. Heading South on I-81: 1. Take exit 162 (Buchanan). 2. At end of ramp, turn left (south) onto Rt. 11 toward Troutville. 3. Go 3.2 miles and turn left onto Blue Ridge Turnpike (606). 4. Go 1.6 miles to stop sign, turn right onto Nace Road (640). 5. Go less than 1/10th mile and turn left onto Bethel Road (again, 606). 6. Drive under rail-road trestle, entrance to camp is .3 of a mile straight ahead.

- DescriptionOur facility is ideal for unique events for groups, families, and those wishing to have easy access to the local outdoors. We have several cabins and cottages that sleep 14 each in bunks. Our lodges vary in size and capacity, but are typically outfitted with bunks or twin beds, a full kitchen, a bathroom, and a meeting space. If your group is in need of extra meeting spaces, we have three conference rooms, a dining hall with a capacity of 200, two picnic shelters, and a roofed, open air amphitheater. Camp Bethel is a rustic event space in the heart of the mountains. In addition to our many indoor facilities, we also offer limited, full RV hookup sites, as well as tent camping with seasonal bath houses. Founded in 1927, Camp Bethel is “sacred ground” for thousands of persons who find sanctuary in these 470 beautiful, peaceful acres. Our primary mission is as a Christian Summer Camp, so our lodging and bathing facilities are generally rustic and simple. We welcome your use of our camp facilities for your event. Take comfort in simplicity and bring a spirit of self-sufficiency for your stay. TERMS OF USE: Overnight Lodging = 2pm-12noon. Day Use = 8am-5pm. Deposits are required to reserve facilities and services. Your deposit counts toward your final bill. For lodging and meals, children ages 4-12 receive 50% discount , and children 0-3 are free.
