I paint the things I love. The mountains in autumn, sunlight streaming through a window, old barns and home places, things that touch my heart. Oil paints are my favorite medium. Their unmatched color capabilities and rich beauty make them my “go to” choice for expression. My still life paintings are always done from life and being a part of the plein air group "The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge" has helped me to paint landscapes from life on a regular basis. A new “favorite subject” of mine is cityscapes. I love discovering the patterns and playing around with the colors in this rich source of images.
My oil paintings are in private and corporate collections across the United States and Canada. You'll find my work at The Cabell Gallery of Fine Art in Lexington, The Little Gallery at Smith Mountain Lake, Goose Creek Gallery in Bedford, the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center in Clifton Forge and Simply Framing by Kristi in Roanoke, Virginia. Please visit my website bmasonart.com for more information about me and my work.
