Exit Interstate 81 at Exit 143 for 581/220 South to Roanoke. Exit 581 at Exit 6 for Elm Avenue. Bear right in the exit lane and turn right at the light onto Elm Avenue. Continue on Elm Avenue to Franklin Road and turn left onto Franklin Road. Continue on Franklin Road for 6 blocks to Woods Avenue and turn left onto Woods Avenue. After 2 houses there is a narrow gravel drive to the right. Turn right into this drive. Drive to the last house on the right (1526) and park in parking lot. Welcome to the Black Lantern Inn!
From the Blue Ridge Parkway: Exit between mile marker 120 and 121 onto Mill Mountain Parkway at the Mill Mountain Park/Roanoke sign. Mill Mountain Parkway becomes Walnut Avenue upon entering residential area. Turn left onto 3rd Street for one block. Turn right onto Woods Avenue for 100 feet. Turn left into alley between Apartments and Red Brick House. Go to last building on the right.
Route 220 North out of North Carolina becomes 581/220 North in Roanoke. Exit at Franklin Road/220 Bus. Our drive is an immediate right just after the 220 North exit merges into Franklin Road. Watch for merging traffic and turn right before the sign and you will see the Black Lantern Inn ahead. Drive to the first house on left (1526) and park in parking lot.
