Born in Southwestern Virginia, Jim Parker has been painting and drawing since the 3rd grade.
His early paintings were landscapes of the natural beauty here in Virginia. Paint media consisted of oils and watercolor. In his early 20’s, he began exploring pen & ink. Creating hundreds of portraits, animals, and landscapes. He refers to it as his Pointillism grayscale period. Today, he has returned to painting landscapes, portraits in oil and watercolor. He loves capturing hometown places and events. He is a 2-time winner of the People’s Choice Award from the Salem Fine Art Commission Art Show.
