Our 70+ parks, fields and greenways, two outdoor pools, four fitness and six recreation centers, Discovery Center, Roanoke Valley Skate Park and Carvins Cove Natural Reserve are beautified by our renowned urban forestry and horticulture programs and available for rental, host sports, activities, ourdodor adventures, camps, trips and much more. As the Roanoke Valley's oldest and only Nationally Accredited park and recreation agency, it is the responsibility of Roanoke Parks and Recreation to connect you with endless, exciting recreation opportunities throughout the region and beyond. The Department is committed to offering vibrant public spaces and memorable life experiences through state-of-the-art parks, greenways, and trails, as well as quality, enriching programs and activities that provide new learning experiences for individuals of all ages in positive learning environments.

  • Directions: Directions to Parks and Recreation Office: From I-81, take Exit 143 to I-581 South toward Roanoke. Take I-581 South for approximately 5.5 miles and take Exit 5 to Williamson Road toward Downtown Roanoke. Take Williamson Road for approximately 1/4 mile and then turn right on Church Avenue. Continue approximately 1/2 mile on Church Avenue and the City of Roanoke building will be on the right.
