Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge (VVBR), a destination marketing organization, currently has a full-time (hourly/non-exempt) opening for a Sports Sales and Services Coordinator.
The Sports Sales & Services Coordinator’s role is to support all organizational efforts to promote Virginia’s Blue Ridge as a premier year-round sports, meetings, convention, or group travel destination in order to increase economic impact in the region. This position is responsible for supporting VBR sales by processing sales data, preparing correspondence to partners, generating reports and researching events that may be a proper fit for the VBR region. This position is also responsible for coordinating and servicing these events in Virginia’s Blue Ridge. Must be open to flexible hours.
College degree preferred and/or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to meet with clients, hospitality industry partners, elected officials, and dealing in-house with co-workers. Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. Local travel required with potential of out-of-town travel as needed. Valid driver’s license required in order to perform responsibilities related to job functions.
