Explore Park

Mountain Biking at Explore Park

Explore Park features one of the best mountain biking trail systems in the Roanoke Valley in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains.

It's located at Milepost 115 on the Blue Ridge Parkway and there are over 9 miles of trails that meander through the beautiful forest and along the Roanoke River.

As a designated site on the Virginia Birding & Wildlife Trail, the trails at Explore Park offer the opportunity to ride through diverse ecosystems, including wetlands, hillsides, and wooded areas.

The park, which is operated and maintained by Roanoke County Parks, Recreation & Tourism, also features a historic area with interpretive sites and buildings, boat & paddling access to the Roanoke River, and the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center.
