About Add a little adventure to your next vacation and join us in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains at our year round conference, retreat and adventure center. We have accommodations for small family groups as well as large groups for up to 105 lodging and up to 200 camping. Whether you are looking for a relaxing mountain getaway or a high adventure trip, we can help customize a retreat that will fit both your interests and your budget. We customize all group tours and retreats to meet the individual interests and budget of each group. Whether you just want a unique meeting space for your own programming or would like for us to set up an overnight excursion packed with adventure activities, we can do it all! Activities Include: 900' Zip Line, High Ropes Adventure Trail, 50' Climbing Wall & Rappel Tower, Canoe Rentals, Tube Rentals, Mountain Bike Rentals, guided rock climbing off site, guided caving, guided mountain biking, downhill mountain bike shuttles at Carvin's Cove (provided through Roanoke Parks & Recreation), backpacking trips, hiking, instructional pond kayaking classes, guided white water kayaking, guided canoeing (on Roanoke River, New River, James River and Craig Creek), white water rafting (New River Gorge, WV), teambuilding courses and more! Amenities Include: massage therapist available (pay by minute), Free use of Cedar Sauna, Free activities on property such as sand volleyball, horseshoes, frisbee golf, fishing & swimming in ponds, field game equipment for soccer, football, and additional field games; free hiking & biking (with your own bike) on our 500 acre property. Wine & Beer Tastings also available by reservation. Cabins During our off-season months, Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing offers a special discounted rate that allows couples and small groups to rent individual rooms in our elegantly rustic lodges. Typically reserved for large group events during our peak season, take advantage of this limited offer and experience the beauty and tranquility of nature in the winter. Camping Camping rates vary depending on group size and whether you want to rent equipment. Standard rate if you provide your own equipment is $15/tent. This includes use of our showerhouse, fire pits & wood, drinking water, wi-fi, use of our outdoor pavilion (based on availability), and free activities such as hiking on our 500 acre property, swimming & fishing in our pond, sand volleyball, horseshoes, frisbee golf, and field game equipment for soccer, football and games. By reservation only so please call 540-864-6792. Hiking We have a beautiful bluff overlook that is a moderate trail that takes about 1-2 hours round trip. We also have a network of trails that combined covers about 5 miles worth of terrain and can be used for hiking, trail running, mountain biking or even horse back riding (horses riders must get approval prior to your ride). Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are also available as guides for day and overnight hiking and backpacking trips. Pricing varies depending on the number of people in your party and the length of the trip, but starts at just $10/person. We can provide transportation to local trails and make suggestions for suitable hikes depending on your interest, age and physical ability level. Biking The mountains of South-west Virginia with its rolling hills, exciting terrain and beautiful scenery are a perfect combination for a cycling playground. Here at Wilderness Adventure we have worked with Cycling Organizations from all over North America to put together customizable day trips and retreats that suit the individual needs of the Group. Water Activities Our 500 acre property is nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, completely surrounded by the George Washington & Jefferson National Forests with Craig Creek conveniently wrapping around our entire property. This allows us to customize kayaking, tubing and canoeing trips on Craig Creek and you can pick what put in you would like and then float between 1-4 hours back to our property at your leisure. Our rental rates are very affordable however if you are hoping for a little bit more instruction or bringing a group of beginners, then we offer guided trips as well. We also run guided trips to the New & James Rivers for groups of 8 or more. When choosing kayaking, we offer an instructional pond kayaking class to cover basics such as wet exits, rescue techniques, paddling strokes, braces and even roll techniques upon request. This class can be done in conjunction with a trip to the river or on its own. Group Friendly Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing is the ultimate group destination in the southeast. We are not your ordinary Conference, Retreat and Adventure Center. Our unique facility can host up to ~105 for lodging, ~120 for camping and dining, and ~200 for day trips depending on the activities and program desired. Our business thrives on word of mouth and return customers, because once you host your event at our facility you won't want to go anywhere else. That is why groups become official members of the WAEL family and many have been returning for close to 20 years now. We customize all group tours and retreats to meet the individual interests and budget of each group. Whether you just want a unique meeting space for your own programming or would like for us to set up an overnight excursion packed with adventure activities, we can do it all! Our Main Lodge Dining Room offers a sliding price scale that allows you to pick your own cost/meal with simple options such as Meatloaf, Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Green beans and fresh baked cookies; to elegant choices such as Beef Loin with whipped horseradish topping, sweet potatoes duchess with truffle oil atop baby bella mushrooms, grilled lemon pepper asparagus and Nutella (hazelnut cream) cheese cake. Our full time chefs are constantly coming up with new and delicious ways to please our customers and we even take requests. We also have experience catering to gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and many other dietary restrictions. ALL OF OUR MEALS ARE PREPARED WITH FRESH INGREDIENTS AND PREPARED FROM SCRATCH!

Directions
- Directions: From Downtown Roanoke get onto Interstate 581 North toward I-81. Then merge left onto I-81 south toward Salem. Take exit 141 toward New Castle/Salem. At the stop light turn left onto Electric Rd./419. At the next light turn right onto 311 toward New Castle. You will stay on Rt. 311 for about 20 miles going up over Catawba Mountain and eventually entering Craig County and then New Castle, VA. In New Castle turn right past the C&M gas station onto Route 615. Soon after that turn you will see IGA store on your left and Subway shop continue straight on 615 for ~6-7 miles. You will come to our blue & white sign on the left hand side of the road with an arrow pointing for you to turn RIGHT onto 611/Peaceful Valley Rd. Our property is ~1.6 miles on your right. - Additional Information: The Main Lodge Dining Room is typically used to cater to groups visiting our facility for church retreats, schools, corporate retreats, family reunions, weddings, yoga retreats, women's & men's clubs, colleges, fraternities & sororities and so much more. We take food very seriously and love to exceed expectations by preparing amazing homecooked meals. We also like to spread our culinary wings periodically by hosting our Wine & Dine events with local wineries in January, February and March as well as our Expert Beer Tasting event. Step away from the ordinary and challenge your group to adventure activities or pamper them with exquisite views and second to none food. Our 500 acre property is surrounded by the National Forest and has 3 elegantly rustic lodges with a variety of room layouts. Our lodges are designed to promote group camaraderie while socializing by our two story stone fireplace or relaxing on our large wrap around porches. The rooms are just for sleeping so people aren't tempted to sneak off and seclude themselves. We can customize every aspect of your retreat, reunion, wedding, or event.
