Virginia Children’s Theatre: Professional Theatre for Young Audiences is the valley’s only professional theatre designed just for children. RCT’s mission is to provide high quality theatre education and entertainment for kids, their schools and their families with year-round productions and programming. RCT produces four targeted literary or issue-based productions per year. We employ professional theatre staff, professional adult actors, and professional theatre educators and designers, who then team with local youth and talent to create a unique mentoring opportunity that benefits the entire community. Since opening in 2008, RCT’s productions, educational outreach programming and theatre education classes have served more than 132,000.

- Directions: The Roanoke Children's Theatre performs in The Jefferson Center. Easy Directions to The Jefferson Center: Turn onto Wells Avenue and travel past the back of the Hotel Roanoke. Go to the end of Wells Avenue to the traffic light. Turn left onto Gainsboro Rd. Turn right on to Campbell Avenue. Turn left onto 5th Street and turn right onto Luck Ave. You can park in the parking lot on your left. The Jefferson Center is located on the right, just past the YMCA.
