The Roanoke Mountain Loop Road offers a fun, 4 mile bike ride near Milepost 120 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The road gets minimal car traffic but features a nice climb and outstanding views of the Roanoke Valley, Mill Mountain, Downtown Roanoke, and other surrounding mountains. The Roanoke Mountain Overlook is also one of the most popular spots for a picnic in Virginia’s Blue Ridge. Whether you’re looking for a great view of the valley, fall colors, or the tranquil beauty of the mountains, the loop road on Roanoke Mountain has it all. If you’re traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway and looking for an easy, convenient place to ride, this is a terrific option and it’s also just a few miles from all the amenities and entertainment of Downtown Roanoke.
