Our name comes from the nopal cactus, also known as prickly pear, a popular ingredient in Mexican cooking. Like our name, our menu takes inspiration from the cuisine of Central and South America and the Caribbean food known for its freshness and bright flavors, and for the spirit of joy that it brings to the table. I fell in love with this style of cooking and eating. After living for years in Mexico, and spending time in the Florida Keys and the Caribbean, and I wanted to share it with Roanoke. On our menu and in our daily specials, you'll find traditional ingredients like nopalitos, combined in creative, sometimes unexpected ways. Our offerings span Latin America, with influences from Baja to the Bahamas and plenty of points in between. Our ingredients are locally sourced and sustainably raised whenever possible. Our desserts are house-made. Join us for dinner inside, at a table or our friendly bar or, during the warmer months, take advantage of our umbrella-shaded patio. We hope to see you soon.
