The Mountain Lake Conservancy manages a beautiful area of over 2,600 acres that contains over 20 miles of amazing trails, as well as over 35 miles of public fire roads and jeep tracks. Beginners will love riding on the Lower Jungle Trail, which provides smooth gravel as you wind under giant hemlocks and birch trees. The more advanced riders will love the challenges provided on the Moonstomper and Lower Doe Run trails, which wind through and around massive rocks. Trail maps can be picked up at the Mountain Lake Conservancy’s office next to the hotel. Visitors can purchase a $5 day pass for parking, or if you’re a regular visitor, you can purchase an annual Trail Access Pass for $20 at the Mountain Lake Conservancy Visitor’s Center. Hunting does take place in the forest area surrounding the trails so wearing bright colored apparel is recommended during hunting season.
