Art teachers never retire. So after 30 years of teaching K-college, I began another life as a self employed artist. After reaching my goal (in Sept 2010)of one Parkway painting a day for one year, my intent is to keep painting the Parkway until I feel I have covered the 469 miles thoroughly. I will continue in this direction until I feel the series is finished, which may take a few more years! My blog is the journal of the journey. I also teach teens and adults in my home studio. Original Parkway paintings are on display at Second Helpings Gallery, 1502 Williamson Road in Roanoke Virginia, and prints are available at the gift shop at the Peaks of Otter Lodge on the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 85.6.
