As the oldest commercial vineyard and winery at Smith Mountain Lake, Hickory Hill Vineyards & Winery in Moneta, VA, is a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts. The Furrow family planted their first vines in 1984, and after years of dedicated vineyard experience, they opened their winery in 2001. Since then, Hickory Hill wines have earned prestigious medals in international competitions, showcasing their commitment to quality.
Guests at Hickory Hill can enjoy tastings of the popular “Lake Series,” featuring fruit-forward blended wines, as well as classic, dry options like their award-winning estate-grown Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Don’t miss the Cabernet Franc and the traditional Bordeaux blend, Sixty-Six, crafted from local grapes.
Hickory Hill also hosts the Sunset Saturday music series from May to September, featuring local singer/songwriters in a charming outdoor setting. Visitors are welcomed to the historic 1923 Farmhouse Tasting Room and Gift Shop to sample the fruits of the Furrow family’s labor and take home unique gifts.
