Happy Hopa

Happy Hopa is an art and design service company owned by freelance graphic designer and fine artist Julie Felton. Julie has worked for over 9 years as Art Director for Lamar Advertising of Roanoke, VA, has operated freelance design services since 2008 and has participated in numerous juried fine art shows. She possesses a wide variety of artistic skills and has won awards for both her logo design and her fine art. Graphic design services include, but are not limited to: logo, brochure, poster, letterhead, business card, flyer, postcard, ticket, card, e-card and billboard design. Illustration services are also available. In her fine art, Julie specializes in wildlife and pet portrait art and also creates children’s portraits with a variety of mediums including oil paint, acrylic paint, soft pastel and graphite. Inspiration for her art comes not only from her own pets, but also from the hundreds of hours a year that Julie volunteers for local and national animal organizations like Mill Mountain Zoo, the Roanoke Valley AAZK Chapter, National AAZK, Barn Cat Buddies and the Snow Leopard Trust. Most of her volunteer time is spent at Mill Mountain Zoo working directly with the animals or educating the public about the animals. From cute fluffy Eastern Screech Owls to exotic Ball Pythons, Julie absolutely loves working with and learning about each and every individual. The animals also make great subjects for her illustrations and fine art. Julie loves animals so much, that she named her company after a wolf named “Hopa” who she fell in love with at the Conservators’ Center in North Carolina. When she’s not designing, painting or working to save the lives of both domestic animals and wildlife, Julie loves spending time with her fiancé and her three cats. She also enjoys reading and being out in nature and she is an amateur photographer.
