Grace Renée Pfleger, mezzo-soprano and former Miss Roanoke Valley, is an opera singer and music therapist. A native of Roanoke, Virginia, she holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a minor in German from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she was named the Presser Scholar. In May 2024, she graduated from Radford University with a Master of Science in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and was named Outstanding Graduate Student. Grace is an award-winning singer and has shared her voice locally and internationally. She actively appears in the Roanoke Valley for organizations including Opera Roanoke (Resident Artist), Saint Andrew’s Basilica, Friendship, The Hermitage, The Lion’s Club, The Roanoke Valley Sister Cities, The Shenandoah Club, Miss Roanoke Valley and Miss Virginia Organization, Salem Red Sox, The Blue Ridge Marathon, Roanoke Fashion Week, Botetourt Farmers Market, and more. Pfleger believes in the importance of community outreach and has led her music therapy program, Music Through Generations, at numerous locations including local shelters, retirement homes, and community centers. Her program has received national recognition including a feature from National Public Radio (NPR).
