The Havens Wildlife Management Area at Fort Lewis Mountain is for visitors looking to find a truly rugged mountain biking adventure. It’s a space of over 7,100 acres that’s only 5 miles from the Roanoke-Salem area with epic trails for biking. Access is limited and there are no facilities so bring your gear and prepare for a full day of fun if you’re planning to visit. With vast fields that offer gorgeous views of the mountains on the horizon mixed among tree-lined canopy forests, the trails offer a rich variety of experiences. Please keep in mind that hunting is permitted in this area and consider wearing bright colored clothing during hunting season. There are two public access points to the area – on the south side via Route 619/Wildwood Road off Carroll Access Road or the north side via Route 622/Bradshaw Road.
