As America’s Favorite Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway is a terrific route for biking in Virginia’s Blue Ridge. With 8 access points in the region, it’s easy to find a spot to ride your bike on the Parkway. Whether you’re trying to conquer the entire 469 miles of the road that spans through Virginia and North Carolina, or just want to spend a couple hours on your bike, the vistas and overlooks in the Roanoke Valley in Virginia’s Blue Ridge are some of the best in the country. You will also encounter unique plants and wildlife. There are steep changes in elevation and this is a road with high motorist and RV traffic, particularly in spring and fall, so it’s best suited for advanced cyclists and bikers. Please adhere to all state and federal motor vehicle laws and ride only on paved surfaces.
