Bent Mountain is one of the most popular routes for road biking in Virginia’s Blue Ridge. At 8.3 miles, it’s a lengthy climb to the 2,963-foot summit, but you’re rewarded with an excellent surface for riding and beautiful views. This route for leading you up the mountain and the 1,600-foot climb travels along Callaway Road on the southern side of Bent Mountain. Due to regular traffic on Route 221, Callaway Road is a better option for road biking this mountain. Once you reach the end of Callaway Road, you’ll turn right on Route 221 and then make an immediate right onto the Blue Ridge Parkway to continue the climb and reach the summit.
