READINGS FROM MARY JOHNSTON'S MEMOIRS: Mary was a best-selling American novelist and advocate for women's suffrage. Her best known work was 'To Have and to Hold', a romantic adventure set in early colonial Jamestown and was the best-selling book in the United States in 1900. She published a number of other books, three of which were made into silent films.

We invite you to step back in time with Valerie Brugh who will be portraying Mary Johnston reading from Johnston's long-awaited personal memoirs.

Copies of Mary Johnston's Memoirs will be available for purchase and signed by Valerie Brugh. Light refreshments will be available. The Homeplace will be open from 1:00 to 5:00 pm for tours.
