More Information

We’re inviting you to scenic Botetourt County, Virginia, home of many of the Valley’s leading artists. This October, a select group of artists will be offering their work while sharing their creativity in 9 unique artist’s workshops and studios.

This free, self guided driving tour, of working artist’s studios and homes, is your chance to discover and collect finished works directly from the artists themselves. Plus you will see works in progress, possibly catching an impromptu demonstration of the tools and techniques used to create them.

Various locations around Botetourt County will feature 13 artists in 9 locations. There is a diverse and exciting group of artists participating this year with the return of some of the favorite artists, the introduction of new artists and the addition of a new coppersmith shop, The list of OSB artists include Ed Bordett, Vera Dickerson, Amy D. Herzel, Dan Jones, Brett LaGue, Judith F Lochbrunner, Willie Simmons and Mark Woodie. Guest artists are Courtney Cronin, Dan Henderson, Mary Anne Meador, Elliott Muncey, and Robin Poteet.

What makes this tour unique is that it is also a driving tour featuring the beauty of the views, fields and back roads of Botetourt County in the Fall Color Season. Visitors can experience what inspires our artists to create and then see the results in the art studios.

Please note that safety is of primary importance this year and we are taking precautions and following all guidelines to keep our visitors and artists safe this year. Specific information will be shared on the OSB Facebook page and newsletter closer to the event.  This year we offer an option for private tours by appointment with the artist on Thursday and Friday (October 22 and 23). Details on the brochure.

Complete information on the Tour can be found at https://openstudiosbotetourt.com . Tour brochures with detailed maps will be available the first of October.
