White lightning, mountain dew, hooch... no matter what you've heard it called, the polarizing, fascinating and scandalous history surrounding moonshine has retained a loyal following throughout the region's evolution. From June 1 - 23, 2018, The Grand Old Lady celebrates the Moonshine Capital of the World with an exhibition and events features the underground, illegal, yet romantic trade, sharing the true history of moonshining in Virginia's Blue Ridge interwoven with the history of The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. In partnership with Franklin County Distillers, the exhibit will feature moonshine still displays, historical photography, folklore tales, and tasting with food pairings of locally distilled likker'. Savor the flavor that dubbed Franklin County and the region the Moonshine Capital of the World.
