Krys Von Tornado is guest artist for the month of June!
Krys Von Tornado is a local artist living in Botetourt County, VA. She creates a new reality with her colors, always better and more beautiful. She has mastered the art of story-telling in her work, often expressing a deeper meaning of love, friendship, and human-kindness. Her work is stunningly creative, captivating, and worthy of praise.
She has received numerous accolades for her work including two 2020 American Art Awards for her work “Bella Rosa” and “Winter Morning” and a Light Space Time award for “Behind the Fence”. Currently, three of her paintings are included in the Hall of Fame of American Art Awards Winners Gallery (the American Art Awards are juried by the 25 best galleries and museums in America).
Krys Von Tornado speaks several languages, having lived in several countries. Everywhere she lives, the neighbors comment: “There is no surface safe from Krys.” When not standing in front of the easel, she paints murals on her walkway, driveway (one even a half-mile long), huge pictures on the outside of her house, bathroom walls, stairways, mailboxes, sheds, fences, decks, cabinet shelves and such.
Krys enjoys the silence in her house on a hill, surrounded by nature and protected by three well-trained German Shepherds. She begins her day before sunrise, walking with the dogs through her own forest where she finds inspiration to paint even more beauty. Sometimes she drinks her first cup of tea sitting on a fallen tree. Her weekly tea parties are known and appreciated wherever she lives. If you enjoy a cup of hot tea, just drop by – you will always be welcome!
