Chris Taylor, a neophyte recruit in Vietnam, finds himself caught in a battle of wills between two sergeants, one good and the other evil. A shrewd examination of the brutality of war and the duality of man in conflict.
In conjunction with Opera Roanoke's Vietnam War period performances of Glory Denied in late February, we invite you to attend a special showing of the Vietnam War era film, "Platoon" at the Grandin Theatre. Free coffee and donuts will be provided by Opera Roanoke beginning at 9:15am and a short lecture on the artistic interpretations of Vietnam, both film and stage, and its continued legacy will be given by Derick Stackpole. This event is free to attend and open to all.
Opera Roanoke's performances of Glory Denied are February 24 and 26 at the Jefferson Center. Free tickets are available for veterans by emailing email@example.com.
