History comes alive at Booker T. Washington National Monument!
Booker T. Washington National Monuments will host An Old Virginia Christmas on Saturday, December 1st from 3-8 p.m.
Learn about what a Christmas was like in mid-19th century Virginia the plantation where Dr. Booker T. Washington spent his first nine years as an enslaved person. Participate in candlelight tours and gain perspectives of the owners of the plantation and the enslaved residents.
Join us for an evening on the tobacco plantation where Booker T. Washington was born and learn how residents spent the last Christmas in slavery. Light refreshments, music, and children's activities are also provided.
