More Information

Heath Hardage Lee of Roanoke, author, independent historian and curator, will discuss her latest book, “The League of Wives: The Untold Story of the Women Who Took on the U.S. Government to Bring Their Husbands Home.” The book reveals how the wives of aviators who were Prisoners of War (POW) or Missing in Action (MIA) during the Vietnam War formed The National League of Families, lobbied government leaders, conducted a campaign, held covert meetings with antiwar activists, and helped to code secret letters to their imprisoned husbands. Held at O. Winston Link and History Museum, 6:30pm.

The 2019 Kegley Lecture series is graciously sponsored in memory of Betty Norris.
