More Information

Dr. Brent Stevens, director of the Writing Center at Hollins University, will show movie clips and speak on “Alfred Hitchcock and World War 2: Propaganda and Personal Style.” After Hitchcock moved to Hollywood in 1939, he was vilified for his absence in England during the Blitz. Stevens’s examination of his 1930s films reveals he deserves credit for helping to sway the British public for seeing the threat Germany posed. Held at O. Winston Link and History Museum, 7 p.m.

The 2019 Kegley Lecture series is graciously sponsored in memory of Betty Norris.
