May features tons of awesome live music in the Roanoke Valley in Virginia's Blue Ridge.
Between two major music festivals, award-winning international performers, and local artists, nearly every day of the entire month of May offers great tunes you can check out during your visit to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Some of the highlights this month include the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra performing the music of Led Zeppelin on May 6 at the Salem Civic Center, country music star Chris Young in concert at the Salem Civic Center on May 21, and legendary rock band Blondie invades Elmwood Park on May 12 as part of the Totally Rad Roanoke - Star City Concert Series, presented by FloydFest and Across-the-Way Productions.
The Harvester Performance Center also offers its usual selection of outstanding artists, including Jamey Johnson and The Black Lillies on May 20 and classic English rock band The Zombies on May 25.
You can check out The Spot on Kirk, one of the newest music venues in Downtown Roanoke in Virginia's Blue Ridge, as it hosts multiple acts this month, including the rock and soulful sounds of Keaton Simons on May 31. And Downtown Roanoke is the place to be on Saturday, May 21 for the Virginia's Blue Ridge Downtown Twilight Criterium, a professional cycling race and full day of activities, including live music at the Night Rider's Ball, hosted by Martin's Downtown Bar & Grill.
Memorial Day Weekend is a great time for an extended weekend of music as the Bluegrass & BBQ Festival at Chantilly Farm and Festival in the Park in Elmwood Park are both taking place in Virginia's Blue Ridge.
