Roanoke in Virginia's Blue Ridge is one of the best mountain towns in America, according to a new article on the Men's Journal website.

The list of "The 20 Best Mountain Towns in America" features Roanoke and highlights its incredible outdoor amenities, including an extensive network of world-class trails for hiking and biking.

Roanoke earned a spot on the list with other well-known outdoor destinations around the country like Park City, Utah, Taos, New Mexico, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

The following is an excerpt from the story:

"A contender for the mountain biking capital of the East, with a first-rate selection of challenging trails, ranging from Carvins Cove’ Hi-Dee-Hoo (lots of switchbacks) to Mill Mountain Star Trail, which takes you to the world’s largest free-standing illuminated neon star."

In addition to the outdoor adventures, the article also showcases other unique local attractions and experiences, such as an overnight stay at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center and having a meal at the iconic Texas Tavern.
